SPECIAL SESSIONS

Submission details

Special sessions are oral technical sessions with 8 invited papers. A special session should provide an overview of the state-of-the-art and highlight important research directions in a field of special interest to ICIP participants.

Each speaker invited to a special session will be required to submit a paper, under the regular submission requirements, by the special session submission deadline: January 14th, 2011 January 21st, 2011. These papers will enter the same reviewing system as regular papers, and decisions regarding acceptance and rejection will be based on the special session committee and review results. Hence it is possible that some invited papers may be rejected. However, this is expected to be a rare event given that the special session organizer should have recruited only the strongest papers to participate in the special session.

Please note that the special session organizers and all invited speakers will be required to register for the conference. Special session organizers are encouraged to include in the set of invited papers a tutorial paper that should help ICIP attendees to focus on the concepts that will be discussed through the special session.

Submission of abstract

Should include ONE page with title, participant names, short abstract.

Proposals should include:

1. A topical title of the special session;
2. A description of how the session will be organized;
3. Tentative titles and abstracts of at least 6 invited papers;
4. List of authors who have agreed to present a paper in the session;
5. Brief biographies of invited speakers;
6. Biography of the session organizer(s) and their contact information;
7. Other relevant information (if any).
